As a Trading Software Analyst (MMB14) you are part of the Global Services team that is responsible for the implementation, on-going support and growth of a variety of client’s trading systems. This involves programming in Java, technical troubleshooting and functional requirements gathering, working directly with the end users. It requires an understanding of IT system architecture and eventually, an understanding of financial markets and financial instruments. In providing our client with services, you will be part of a larger team working closely with our Engineers and Product managers. On the client side, you will interact with both the traders/users and technical staff using the solutions we provide. You will be part of a mission critical team and this will provide you with excellent exposure to fast paced, high-tech environments spanning trading solutions across many product types and exchanges.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
o Working directly with clients helping them implement and use functionality – Examples: Writing a custom processor or Service for custom integration of a FIX application with customer’s native systems.
o System trouble shooting together with the users, liaising with our engineering team on issues that require code changes.
o Working with exchanges on new functionality and market upgrades.
o Working with IT staff at customer sites to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
o Potential requirement to travel to other offices, and customer sites.
o Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or Computers/IT.
o Good knowledge in core Java, collections, multi-threading.
o Good working of knowledge of JIRA, GIT, SVN, XML, Jenkins, Bamboo
o 3 to 5 years’ experience in working with FIX based systems and any FIX engine (e.g. Ullink, Catalys, Cameron FIX, FlexTrade, Sungard etc.).
o Understanding of financial markets, exchanges and financial instruments (options, futures and stocks)
o Excellent knowledge of FIX protocol. Must have complete and hands on familiarity with various FIX messages for session, orders and trade handling.
o An interest in working with and servicing clients
o Basic knowledge of Linux, and SQL
o Be a motivated team player, with excellent problem solving skills
o Stress resistant.
o Familiarity with shell scripting languages like Python, BASH, etc.
